This is the compilation of the various animals and creatures that inhabit or infest the world. Some animals are domesticated for economic and crafting purposes. Boss monsters (mobs) are regularly hunted for loot and myst gains.

Mob Stats[]

All mobs have basic health, damage, delay (time between attacks), and defense stats. Some mobs have damage that bypasses defense (armor piercing, or ArP). Be very wary of mobs with fast attack times that also ignore your defense; such as flame demons, dust devils (which can also slow you), and hive soldiers (which can also swarm you).

Mobs can also have slower or faster movement speeds, making them easier or harder to shake off. And higher level mobs can have hidden dodge and precision stats to keep pace with players upgrading their stats; an early example are ghosts, which have very high dodge and are hard to hit for new players. And hornets to a lesser degree.

Gnomes can spawn on any floor of the Underworld, as well as be spawned by Summoners. They have the unique ability to upgrade nearby mobs to more powerful versions: such as Water Sprites into Ice Elementals, or Haunted Remains into the new mob type, Cursed Remains. Gnomes can not upgrade the same mob more than once, however the full list of upgradeable mobs is not yet known. Gnomes will also pick up items they find on the ground, with each item adding 25HP to the gnome's health. This reportedly also increases the amount of myst from killing the buffed up gnome.

Special Notes:
A mummy occurs when a Gnome upgrades a Haunted Remains. Being attacked by a mummy has a chance to curse a random skill. Being cursed again will restore the first skill while selecting another (or the same one) at random. Cursed skills are reduced to level 0 and reincarnating with a cursed skill will instead remove a blue star from that skill (as well as removing 5% myst and XP gain, and reducing your level cap by 1: essentially erasing a single carn). Curse can be removed by interacting with an altar.

When were these added? I'm not sure.

Regenerates 500 HP every few seconds, making it incredibly difficult to kill. Spawns 4 other fenweed around it (similar to Skeleton Lords) which have 2500 HP each and despawn when the main fenweed is too far away (or dead). Occastionally counters ranged attacks (including Whirlwind) with a ranged attack of its own.

Special Notes:

Seraphs are a fun but dangerous enemy which are hostile to Nephils.

During combat Seraphs teleport around at random at short intervals, healing for a percentage of their health each time. They have normal melee attacks, but their most dangerous ability are pillars of light with a long range that will strike a marked square after a few seconds, dealing 33%(!!!) of your total HP in damage (this is the only known damage source which can bypass the normal limits of players only taking 25% of their total HP in damage from a single attack).

When a pillar of light is cast there is a sound effect (the same sound made by lich spells) and a small white exclamation point (!) will appear momentarily on the target square. If you are standing still the square where you are standing will be targeted. If you are in motion, the game predicts what square you will be on when the pillar of light goes off and targets that square ahead of you. This means that whenever a pillar of light is cast you want to move (if standing still), or change directions (if already moving).

Because of the shared spell sound effects, it is recommended to not engage Seraphs and Liches simultaneously. A Seraph's pillar of light will damage other mobs, including other Seraphs (just not the seraph who cast it). This means you can wait for a pillar of light to be cast, and then disorient or otherwise kite another mob into it, dealing massive damage and turning the mob hostile to the Seraph.

Seraphs will be neutral to you if you are out of combat when you first approach, but if you are in combat they will be hostile. This attitude is locked in when they first spot you and does not reset by running away or dropping aggro. Seraphs will also attack Nephils on sight, with the line "Justice makes no exceptions." If left uninterrupted the Seraph and Nephil will fight to the death.

Special Notes:

Nephils attack by hurling spheres of dark energy every 2 seconds which can deal 75 damage and intimidate the player. This mechanic appears to place all abilities on cooldown for a max of 10 seconds (CDs faster than 10 seconds run out at normal time). This means that if you are within range of a Nephil you are likely to be chain-intimidated and unable to use any abilities.

The Nephil's attacks cannot be blocked to reduce damage. As a Nephil loses health their movement speed also increases making them harder to kite. At 50% health Nephils will also begin using Shell lasting 5-6 seconds. They also attempt to avoid the range of normal melee attacks throughout combat. In all they are a horrible fight to encounter as part of a mob pack.

Nephils will be neutral if you are in combat when you approach, but you will have to avoid hitting them with Whirlwind all the same. They will turn hostile if you have been out of combat for 10 seconds. Nephils will also attack Seraphs on sight with the chat message "Pass on a message for me...". If left uninterrupted the Nephil and Seraph will fight to the death.

In summary Nephils can be incredibly punishing and dangerous to encounter, especially in conjunction with other mobs. But they are also a handy way to create holes past floor 150. Doppelgangers with whirlwind can be a useful distraction during a Nephil fight, pulling their attention elsewhere while you wait for your abilities to recharge.
